Three of the best anonymous operating systems

Tails is a Linux distribution based on Debian. The development of the The Amnesiac Incognito Live System shortcut indicates that it is a Live version. And that means we can use it without installation, because any medium is enough to run (we have to prepare it using the Rufus program). By running the system, for example from a pendrive, you can work without leaving any traces on your computer.

What is Tails for?

The main task of this system is to provide the user with the highest possible anonymity, privacy and security on the network. It is difficult – virtually all traffic on the Internet is registered. That’s why Tails enforces all connections to the network via Tor. If a program wants to get unprotected access, it is blocked so that it will not expose us. The system also has many tools that increase security – for example, special browser plugins that enforce encrypted connections.

First start-up

After starting the system, a welcome screen will appear from the bootable media. We choose system language and keyboard type (English is the default). Then just click on Run Tails (Start Tails).

System operation.

The system interface is easy to use. People who use Windows on a daily basis should not have problems.

Applications – here you will find a list with all applications divided into categories; in the Favorites category there is a secure anonymous browser – Tor.

If you move the cursor to the leftmost corner of the screen, a special launcher known from the Debian system will open, which makes finding programs easier and makes the search engine available. It also provides a preview of the active windows in each workspace.

The outlawed Kaspersky Lab antivirus proved to be the best in independent tests

When we turn off the system, Tails always tries to erase all traces of using the computer, for this purpose cleaning of RAM is performed. This information appears on the screen for a few seconds.

Parrot Home

Parrot Home takes care of the user’s anonymity and privacy and gives access to many diagnostic and test tools, including for the network environment. It occurs in many versions – more or less extensive. Home version, which we find on the disc, is a lightweight Linux that runs smoothly even on weaker machines. In it, we find programs for secure communication with friends and encryption of documents. Also worth noting is the Security version, intended for advanced users. It contains the most important tools for penetration testing of networks and operating systems.

Kali Linux

Kali Linux is a unique system that contains a lot of tools ready for work and designed for advanced users. Proper use of them requires a lot of practice and experience, but even beginners will be able to use a few basic ones. Attention! The default user in the “Live” version is root, and the password is toor.

By default, you can not place shortcuts to programs on your desktop. On the left side of the screen is a quick access bar with programs from the Favorites category. After right-clicking on the application, we can remove it from this category. Adding to Favorites looks similar – all you need to do is right-click on the application icon and select Add to favorites. At the very bottom of the quick access bar you can see a button that allows you to display almost all programs installed in the system.
