Teracube, the first smartphone with a 4-year warranty

A collection of funds needed to start the Teracube project was announced via the crowdfunding site Kickstarter. The creators of the idea of a mid-range smartphone with a four-year warranty have reached the assumed quota threshold and it looks like the equipment will soon reach the first users. There is a problem, however.

I try to refrain from replacing my smartphone more often than a year, because apart from the desire for novelty I cannot find any logical justification for the mentioned process. Oh, the geek's desire for technology. However, most people I know spend at least two or three years with a telephone. Of course, there are cases of 4- or even 5-year communing with a smartphone. The problem is that the warranty usually applies for 24 months. Teracube seems to be addressing the issue of short support periods.

Teracube and 4 years warranty

I approach crowdfunding with caution and I do not really care about more or less interesting collections. WITH Teracube however, it is different. The manufacturer has a really sensible plan for the average, whose strengths would be a reasonable price, cheap repairs and, and maybe even above all – a four-year warranty.

The fact is that on the market there is no search for devices with such a long warranty, but you have to take into account that the creators of Teracube are not Samsung, Huawei or Apple and it may turn out that they will collapse before the end of the warranty period. This is a kind of risk that I think is worth taking.

Of course, only if we are able to invest in a brand unknown to us. The regular price of the device will be $ 349, but the equipment can be bought now for $ 199, and after exhausting the available pool for $ 249. What will we get in return?

We already know why Apple didn't brag about the amount of RAM on new iPhones. It's not a coincidence

Quite a stylistically pleasant average with a 6.2-inch IPS screen and Full HD + resolution. Eight-core will be responsible for the performance MediaTek Helio P60, Mali-G72 MP3 graphics and 6 GB RAM. Pictures taken with a double main camera (12 Mpix + 5 Mpix) or a single selfie camera (8 Mpix) can be saved to 128 GB of built-in memory or on a microSD card. The specifications are completed by:

  • 3400 mAh battery
  • NFC
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • Dual band Wi-Fi ac
  • Audio Jack connector
  • GPS
  • USB-C
  • Dimensions 157 x 75.5 x 7.7mm
  • Weight 176 grams

At the beginning of the post, I mentioned that there is one problem with Teracube. Yes, and it's quite big. Teracube is at the moment only available in the US, but who knows. If the creators manage to properly disseminate the idea, Teracube can hit further markets.
